Professional Networking Event

Introduction

We’ve hosted the 3rd Professional Networking Event and successfully executed here In Hargeisa Somaliland, we as barkulan team made the young professionals to get a new platform to network share ideas with each other’s. We’ve expended the stuff in order to get more organized during the event. Although we were amazed by the amount of professional and entrepreneurs people who were interested to attend the networking event. However, that this time we decided to add value to our event by charging the attendees low affordable price, in order to cover the food and beverage expenses.

As our event became the new platform for connectivity and network, people were excited to attend and had high expectations from the outcome of our event so they were willing to register not only for themselves but to other friends and colleague who may find the event useful . We did some change this

time for instance, the location we choose an outdoor open air space ,flexible and relaxing and thought about adding some entertainments , and business showcase to engage more the participants but give a chance to 7 creative businesses and newly entrepreneurs to get a visibility and so we set the businesses in the middle of the crowd some of them at the corners rearranged the seats and set a rounded chairs encouraging for socializing but also shared some tips and guidance at the entry of the event just to insure that the participants took full advantage of the event. At first the event was full of young entrepreneurs , freelancers , NGO’S committee members and newly graduated students. In the meantime we decided to break the ice with a fun photo booth alongside BBQ and drinks and that helped the interaction to get way more easier. Meanwhile, we brought some professionals expert in their fields to share their experiences as well as the availability of opportunities in those particular field in the country such as: Art, Physical therapy , Digital marketing , finance management etc.,,,,, . Therefore our team collaborated very well and made sure the event program on go, and checked the participants comfort and energy and highly considered their full satisfaction .

According to one of the attendees “Food, meet now business entrepreneur, the camera Walking around while talking to people, the fact that it was more than sitting and talking, and it was amazing seeing small businesses sharing their stuff, that’s really amazing and helpful for them… and the barbecue option instead of normal way was a good and amazing touch… and the even was almost close one, which meant not that many people and that was really suitable for me, I’m not that fun of crowded events, and as a person who struggled with networking and meeting people everything to be honest was perfect”.

Another attendee suggested “Keep going doing this we will forget the things we call Tribalism”Ended it shows how the networking event add values not only on the profession and the network of our young generation but as well as their mindset and thinking.
